64 SHAMBHALA SUN NOVEMBER 2008 A Buddhist Marriage SAKYONG MIPHAM RINPOCHE i s leader of the Shambhala community and the author of the bestsellers Turning Your Mind into an Ally and Ruling Your World. Two years ago, in a ceremony attended by more than fifteen hundred people, he married Khandro Tseyang, daughter of the Tibetan Buddhist teacher Namkha Drimed Rinpoche and a devoted Buddhist practitioner in her own right. In August of this year, she received the title of Sakyong Wangmo, signifying her leadership role in the Shambhala community. I spoke to Sakyong Mipham and Khandro Tseyang about their own marriage and how all of us can bring the teachings of Buddhism and Shambhala into our relationships. — ME LVIN MCLEOD PHOTOSBYLIZAMATTHEWS NOV 64-67.indd 64 NOV 64-67.indd 64 9/1/08 12:22:41 PM 9/1/08 12:22:41 PM
