Lions Roar : January 2003
12 SHAMBHALA SUN JANUARY 2003 Paul F. Schippnick Lynn Haven, FL Food for the Heart and Mind I’m so happy to receive a new issue of the Shambhala Sun every other month. Not only do you have good portraits of great minds and other interesting articles, but also beauti- ful art. Robert Spellman’s simple paintings of fruit (September 2002) spoke directly to my heart. Eileen Thormodsen Gävle, Sweden ♦ Correction The mandala representation on page 75 of the November issue of the Shambhala Sun had the symbolic colors of the buddha fami- lies in the correct positions, but the line draw- ing of the emblems for each buddha family was off by ninety degrees. The correct posi- tion for the mandala is reproduced below. Symbols of the five families—the wheel in the center for buddha family, the blue vajra for vajra family, the yellow jewels for ratna family, the red lotus for padma family and the green, crossed vajras for karma family.
